It’s not hard to tell I haven’t been motivated to write or play much lately. I did pop on today to see I had a new camper:
I feel like I’ve been getting campers a lot lately.
As for why I haven’t played much lately–there’s two parts to that:
1. I addressed this one over on Tumblr a bit. I would say the latter part bothers me more–people put up their dream villagers to display their hard work and inspire others… and inspiring is different than taking someone else’s design. It doesn’t matter if the pattern ends up changing if it’s still just traced.
2. As I’ve mentioned before, most of what I have done is just waiting. While I still have badges to get done, unfortunately, they are all ones that tend to prey on the thing I have the hardest time doing–grinding. This is essentially a point where the end doesn’t justify the means for me. I can spend all day fishing to try and get the fish I need for the museum… but catching fish just to get the count up (even if it’s for a badge)? That’s really hard for me.
Those who have played MMOs with me know how much trouble I have earning money in a game. I like to do every quest once and I can easily work towards those quests… but just doing quests for money or better items (I’m more of a customization person so better gear doesn’t mean much to me) is just torture. I have so much trouble doing it because it just feels meaningless to me. That connection isn’t there.
And sadly, that’s really all I have left with what I still need to earn in AC.
And then when stuff like I mentioned in example #1 happen, all I want to do is rush ahead so I don’t even have to look at the game anymore because stuff like that ruins things for me. It’s just a frustrating time.
I’m hoping I do feel a bit more motivated soon–I’d really like to continue and get everything perfect… but it’s just really hard lately.
With so much happening this week, it seems I may be cursed with how things are going–one such thing being my SD Card Slot having issues. More or less, I can not put my SD Card back into it–due to some screw sticking out in the back. I’m not sure why, or how, but now I can’t get my SD Card back in despite having no issues just the other day :/ I regret taking any automatic photos and wish I just waited… I feel like an idiot and just so incredibly frustrated. This also means I can’t check StreetPass (due to the patch) and will be missing the SpotPass house today…
From what I could tell, today was Covet from Latte *. They had a very nice house. Just wish I could’ve seen it for myself and take pictures… but right now, everything is kind of a mess. 🙁
So, today the grass has officially started to change in preparation for the brownness of Fall. As much as I hate the tanning season, I love the vibrant Shamrock green that is used for Bamboo and trees during the Summer so I was a bit disappointed. Tanning season still has another week as it is…
However, upon logging into the game, I had a bigger surprise:
Another letter from Nintendo! The mail was about the Slushie Machine. I already got mine when it was given out through SpotPass in Europe due to it being reorderable, but it’s nice to see it available in the US too!
I miss you vibrant grass colors 🙁
Of course, I then hurried off to meet Marina :3
Also finally got Sir’s last mannequin which means the only thing I still need for his basement is a Mega Oboid and that should more or less finish everything off.
Random Rant: The obnoxious stone on the upgraded exterior types is stupid. It doesn’t look too bad on the castle (though, I’d prefer it wasn’t there) and it’s okayish in Zen Castle (but slowly getting worse), but it looks especially bad on Modern where it seems barely any of the exterior walls you pick get shown. I honestly don’t understand the need for the weird stone parts? I mean, the Cottages look so nice.
Anyway, I then proceeded to grab all the purple flowers I had that I moved over to my mom’s town as her favorite color is purple and she wanted lots of purple flowers.
Marcie ended up wanting to see my house again… then after she left, Ruby came in for a surprise visitor @-@ Was quite random. Upon leaving my house [finally], it was storming outside though so bleh.
I didn’t really do much else so it was rather slow today… Although, I know what I should be doing but still too paranoid 🙁
Visitor hour! 😀
Re-tail Sign: Socks
Turnips: AM: 84 Bells | PM: 81 Bells
So, due to allergies sucking, I happened to be up at 6AM and thus, playing commenced. I had a letter from Ruby as a thanks for showing her my house [again]–she gave me a Sprinkler.
I’m starting to think my friend was telling the truth about more requests once your town hall is done… Seriously, it was officially finished today–I just walked past Kiki and boom, bling with a request:
Unfortunately, not one I wanted from her though.
Celebrating the new Town Hall~
Isabelle’s message about it being right outside and starting now (SURPRISE!) was adorable. I need to stop being like “Well, I’m only going to stream for a little bit then so it’d be silly” because then cute things happen and I miss them and it makes me sad 🙁

So, a small rant from me. Ignoring my frustrations with getting villagers to request things or the new flower breeding system, or the fact that animals can put their houses ANYWHERE and you can do nothing about it despite being mayor…
I recently hit the limit in the Kitchen ironically. It was not where I expected to hit it at all, but my guess is because of the wall items that the limit was hit.
The limit in this game is 48–28 more than City Folk and Wild World (THANK GOD), but less than the unlimited of the Gamecube. I never understood why an item limit was added. It’s always been somewhat frustrating to me as one thing I’ve been good at is squeezing as much as I can while still making it work–possibly due to how much of a packrat I am in real life.
While 48/64 items isn’t so bad for the main floor (Giving you 16 spaces for walking), it’s when you add in the roughly 24 items on the wall that it becomes an issue because then that’s 48/88 which while still more than half–it’s only just barely more than half and I don’t need that much walking space.
I’ve seen people who want to make fancy music rooms with all the K.K. Record Art around the walls and they can’t.
Main Room: 38-39 Items. Planning at least one more.
Trophy Room: 38 Items. Planning at least 10 items (Silver, Bronze Bug Trophy, Gold, Silver, and Bronze Fish Trophy, Treasure Chest, Gold Roses, Jacob’s Ladder, Gorgeous Chair, Rococo Dresser, Gold Model Home)… I’m sure I’m missing stuff and that is already over 10.
Teddy Bear Room: 43 Items. Possibly a few wall items are planned? I’d love to put more, but I don’t even have a floor anymore.
Kitchen: 46 Items. I already know I was hoping to add way more than 2 more :/ Especially considering how many I had to remove.
Mermaid Room: 42 Items. Possibly 1-2 more things.
Bedroom ~40 Items. One item I still want to add.
Now, according to the list, the KITCHEN is the closest to being full. And looking at the rooms, I’m pretty sure most people can agree it doesn’t -look- the fullest.
Just…ugh. I hate having creativity stunted like this :/ I don’t understand the limits to be honest. If the GAMECUBE game didn’t need any, why now?!
