Days 205 + 206
Posted by: Jennifer | on December 30, 2013Due to allergies being so awful and my sleeping being a mess, I haven’t been playing too much. Hoping by the New Year, it’ll be a lot better… speaking of which, New Year’s Eve is tomorrow!
It’s the last event of the year and the last item varies per region event of the year!
Regardless, I’m mostly looking forward to April… Cherry Blossom Season <3 And at the end of the month, I will finally unlock my topiary 😐
I did get an interesting message from Molly though--I was going back to tell her I buried her Time Capsule and she pinged me and then told me I had the (I forget the word she used--but more or less automatic) ability to make people happy and then said this:
I’m not sure what caused it, but it made me feel all warm and fuzzy, Wish I was able to grab the first part. It just threw me off completely since I never had that happen before.
Besides that, I went to Jessie’s Town for Islanding 😀
Yay~
Day 203 + 204
Posted by: Jennifer | on December 28, 2013I didn’t find much time to play yesterday due to not feeling too up to it. Allergies have decided to come out in full force to say the least :/ Regardless, I did push myself to try and play a bit more today. It was probably a good thing though as I received a birthday invite from Diana. Her birthday is January 4th. I went and picked up some wrapping paper and ordered a Plaza Wall so hopefully she will like it.
Besides that, I was sad we didn’t actually get the Nintendo Zone Mii (available until January 9th in North America–or the US at least. Not sure if it’s the same for those in Canada) in the Plaza [in Animal Crossing]. He makes a comment about AC and is playing it, but alas, no meeting him there 🙁
Anyway, I will just end this saying that I really love snow.
Day 202
Posted by: Jennifer | on December 26, 2013I loaded up the game today not expecting much, but low and behold, another letter from Nintendo!:
Even more exciting… what was in it!:
“Dear Jennifer,
With the end of the year
comes the excuse to bring
out fun decorations, like this
kadomatsu! What a perfect
time to get in touch with
your Japanese side! Enjoy!
From the multicultural cast”
OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG. WE GOT A KADOMATSU. AND IT’S ALL CULTURAL AND YES. THIS IS HOW I WANT TO FEEL. THIS IS WHY I WANT EVERY SINGLE ANIMAL CROSSING EVENT IN EACH GAME. CULTURAL EXPERIENCES ARE AWESOME. THEY TEACH YOU THINGS. DO YOU SEE HOW EXCITED I AM? I WANT TO CRY TEARS OF JOY (and almost did).
For those wondering what the heck is a Kadomatsu:
A kadomatsu (“gate pine”) is a traditional Japanese decoration of the New Year placed in pairs in front of homes to welcome ancestral spirits or kami of the harvest. They are placed after Christmas until January 7 (or January 15 during the Edo period) and are considered temporary housing (shintai) for kami. Designs for kadomatsu vary depending on region but are typically made of pine, bamboo, and sometimes ume tree sprigs which represent longevity, prosperity and steadfastness, respectively. “The fundamental function of the New Year ceremonies is to honor and receive the toshigami (deity), who will then bring a bountiful harvest for farmers and bestow the ancestors’ blessing on everyone.” After January 15 (or in many instances the 19th) the kadomatsu is burned to appease the kami or toshigami and release them.
*rolls around in Culture* THANK YOU NINTENDO. Of course, we can’t actually put it outside our home (unless you want a leaf sitting outside your house) and well, you can’t burn it, but I did put it in one of Seamstry’s rooms!:
So pretty T~T <3 seriously, I am so excited right now. And yes, it can be reordered! 😀
Day 201 – Merry Christmas!
Posted by: Jennifer | on December 25, 2013First of all, Merry Christmas to everyone 😀 I didn’t do too much today ingame, but I did get a lovely letter from Jingle:
“To Jennifer Claus
That was some of the best
Santa-ing I’ve ever seen!
I’ll be counting on you next
year too! I’m sending you
a little something special so
you won’t forget about me!
Happy holidays from Jingle!”
In it was Jingle’s picture :3
Besides that, Redd was in town:
Nothing good though.
And I played hide and Seek:
I got a Foosball Table for winning.
<3
Day 200 – Happy Toy Day!
Posted by: Jennifer | on December 24, 2013So it is officially Toy Day! 😀 And my 200th Day of playing. Besides a wonderful greeting from Isabelle upon loading up, I also had a letter from Dad:
“Dear sweet Jennifer,
Remember when I dressed
up as Santa to give you your
Toy Day presents?
I always got a kick out of
seeing you smile.
Happy Toy Day! – Dad”
<3 <3 <3 <3 <3
Also, the music is so pretty T~T
Sounds like the Christmas Toy Day Spirit to me <3
yeeeeeeees.
Regardless, I wasn’t able to keep playing long. Thankfully, I got back right as Toy Day began.
