TODAY IS WEEDING DAY 😀 After over 10 months, it’s finally here and I will unlock my topiary! NOT ENOUGH WORDS FOR HOW HAPPY I AM. I even had every part of my town covered to guarantee victory.

I loaded up the game today not expecting much, but low and behold, another letter from Nintendo!:

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG. WE GOT A KADOMATSU. AND IT’S ALL CULTURAL AND YES. THIS IS HOW I WANT TO FEEL. THIS IS WHY I WANT EVERY SINGLE ANIMAL CROSSING EVENT IN EACH GAME. CULTURAL EXPERIENCES ARE AWESOME. THEY TEACH YOU THINGS. DO YOU SEE HOW EXCITED I AM? I WANT TO CRY TEARS OF JOY (and almost did).
For those wondering what the heck is a Kadomatsu:
A kadomatsu (“gate pine”) is a traditional Japanese decoration of the New Year placed in pairs in front of homes to welcome ancestral spirits or kami of the harvest. They are placed after Christmas until January 7 (or January 15 during the Edo period) and are considered temporary housing (shintai) for kami. Designs for kadomatsu vary depending on region but are typically made of pine, bamboo, and sometimes ume tree sprigs which represent longevity, prosperity and steadfastness, respectively. “The fundamental function of the New Year ceremonies is to honor and receive the toshigami (deity), who will then bring a bountiful harvest for farmers and bestow the ancestors’ blessing on everyone.” After January 15 (or in many instances the 19th) the kadomatsu is burned to appease the kami or toshigami and release them.

Picking up a flower, entering a building, and then going back out did cause Snowballs to spawn! So it was Dung Beetle time. I lied in wait.
After longer than it should’ve been:

However, I did have some issues. Snowballs didn’t always spawn and sometimes I only got one… And my Snowmam even moved:
And I think may have murdered a flower…. Regardless, I hope I will see Phineas later to get another gold badge T~T And I managed to stop Diana from leaving thankfully x-x She apparently was going to leave in 2 days… I would’ve been so upset if I didn’t stop her. She’s one of the new villagers I really adore and the person who gave me her is just really nice and awesome and just yeah, I hope I never lose her or any of my villagers. (Seriously, if there was like a…patched feature to make it so you can set a villager to never move, I would cry tears of happiness)
Also Flurry was better so I finally was able to give her her time capsule!

Day 181 and 182
I really didn’t end up playing much yesterday due to lots of craziness, so I just popped on to take my photo for the TBT Daily Challenge. We’re up to Day 6 now (Days switch over at 6PM EST–about 11 hours from now). And yes, even though I know the challenges, I only do them after they are announced 😛
There’s still 8 challenges to go 😀
Regardless, today is Naughty or Nice day in European games and Chananr went and opened his gates and due to lots of stuff I plan to get done, I loaded my game up and headed to the train station 😀 On the way, I stopped Marina from moving who apparently decided 2 days ago–I can not complain enough about the moving in this game. Seriously, I think they pop up more than I ran into Zubat in Pokemon. ANYWAY BACK TO THE ORIGINAL START OF THIS SENTENCE…. Naughty or Nice Day today! Yay!
For those who are unaware, it involves leaving out a shoe or sock and waking up the next day with it filled with goodies :3 It’s kind of like the parent of Christmas stockings.
